DESCRIPTION
The main reason for burnout is misalignment.
Module 1- Healthy relationship with work
Step one into any transformation is to be aware of what currently doesn't work for you. You can't consciously change things if you don't know what's 'broken'. That learning is a breakthrough that will help you to look at the way you work from a new perspective.
There are 6 main areas at work that may contribute to burnout and this session will help you to identify them.
Based on these areas we will create a personalised plan that will help you to recover from burnout and build supporting habits + beliefs around work.
I will also help you work on limiting beliefs around work that you may hold unconsciously (e.g. I have to work hard so I can be successful).
Module 2 - Manage your workload + understand what's in your control
This module is will help you understand how to manage your workload more effectively. We will dive deep into the root cause and outcomes of having too much workload and its' impact on your performance.
The next step is to learn how you contribute to your effectiveness at work. Very often we don't fully realise what's in our control. That leads to hopelessness and internal frustration. These two components (workload and control) have a tremendous impact on how we perceive ourselves in the workplace. The way we feel how effective we are impacts our confidence level.
Module 3 - Reward & Fairness
Do you feel recognised for all your hard work? You are taking extra responsibilities, staying late to help your coworkers or even working on your days off because of an important project. You are dedicated and... You don't even get "thank you" for that.
Early in your life, you learnt that by working hard you receive good grades at school and recognition from parents and teachers. Unfortunately, it might not be like that at your workplace.
This module will help you understand how you can change that by employing effective tactics and negotiation techniques.
What goes 'hand-in-hand' with reward is fairness in the workplace. If you work in a place where you feel people are not treated well and are not respected, that will have a very negative impact on your mental wellbeing. Three major problems when it comes to unfairness include disrespect, discrimination and favouritism. The result of unaddressed fairness is employee cynicism which is damaging to overall organisational morale and personal challenges that can prevent you from looking for a change. We will take a close look into that and help you understand how to work in this environment.
Module 4 - Community + Values
Did you know that we spend more time at work than at home? Therefore the atmosphere in our workplaces is extremely important. Sometimes we don't mind what we do as long as we have supportive, productive and pleasant people around us. That helps us to overcome many obstacles. On the other side, a workplace community that is dysfunctional and oppressive contributes to burnout.
In this module, we organise our relationships with others. We will take a closer look at your work relationship style and skills like communication to enhance your experience.
The second part of the module is about values. The base of every company operation and business is a compelling mission statement that is based on the company's values. Unfortunately, often we might not be fully aware of a misalignment of our personal values with the values of the organisation we work for e.g. there are some ethical concerns that undermine relationships at work. We will look into how values at your workplace impact your effectiveness.
Module 5 - Review
In week 5 we are going to review what has changed for you in the course of this programme (last 4 weeks). We will check where your burnout scores are right now and compare them with what it was when you started the programme. That will give us an appropriate understanding for future course of action.
Module 6 - Plan going forward
The final week is all about your life going forward. The last 5 weeks were quite intense and you learned a lot about areas of work that contributed to burnout. You understand what the problems were and how they affected your life. Based on that we will create a plan for you going forward. We will decide together what you want to do and where you see yourself in the next 1-5 years. That will help you stay focused and avoid burnout in the future.
BONUS! You will also receive 3 stress management tools that will help you build resilience.
It is a logical and easy concept to grasp... So why are so many people experiencing burnout at the moment?
“I have bills to pay.”
“It's just a job.”
“There is nothing I can do about it.”
Does it sound familiar?
All of the above are fair points and I get it. You have responsibilities and obligations that you need to fulfil. I know how it feels because I have been there myself and... nothing changed. For a number of years my growing frustration was piling up and I burned out. At that time I could not see a way out. I was unhappy, cynical and constantly exhausted. I could not see what beliefs I carried and how they further contributed to my burnout.
It only changed when I experienced serious health challenges that I realised that nobody's going to save me. Laying in the hospital bed I realised that I never want to be in a situation like that. And it's only up to me to start changing the way I work.
I can guarantee you this - if you don't take the first step to fix it, it will not fix itself. That's just the way it is.
So where you can start?
First of all, I want you to know that if you suspect that you are experiencing burnout it's most likely true.
Burnout is common but it is taboo to talk about in many workplaces.
This programme is for you if you’re:
-
Working in a role that requires dedication and you juggle it with personal + family responsibilities
-
Used to be a high achiever but you're performance has dropped significantly
-
You don't know how to motivate yourself anymore
-
Scared you might lose your relationship or the job that you worked for very hard
-
Overstressed and see no end to it yet you feel like you gotta keep going
-
Overwhelmed and frustrated because you don't know how to fix the vicious cycle of burnout
-
Embarrassed to talk to your friends and family because "You have it all"
-
Confused about how you got here and how to get better
-
Work burnout negatively affects your personal life

What will you learn:
-
What is the root cause of your burnout. Understand what really motivates you so you can feel energised about your career again.
-
Why burnout is happening to you so you can make plans for how to avoid it in the future.
-
How to make a progress towards the life you want and accomplish your goals, without the need to sacrifice (staying up late or getting up early etc.)
-
How to set your priorities in a more supportive order - your lifestyle, family and career are part of your life. You don't need a constant "push" to make things work
-
How to create more authentic relationships at your workplace and personal life.
-
How to maintain an organized work schedule without sacrificing your physical and mental wellbeing
Finally discovering these parts of you that were long time forgotten but can help you to flourish.
The only reason you aren’t experiencing this is because you’ve been bought into hassling culture.
When it comes to burnout and performance decline, there is very little that you will learn about within the organisation. Most likely your boss and coworkers are not even aware of the signs and consequences of unaddressed issues.
I know this because I was going through burnout myself and I didn't even know about it. I thought there was something wrong with me and I tried to work even harder but I was getting nowhere.
After a total collapse of my physical and mental health and spending some time in the hospital praying to see another day, I knew that I had to change and find a way to work differently, otherwise I lose all that I worked so hard for.
Often we think that the situation that happens to us is unique to our circumstances and we are scared to talk about it. We built up this image of a high achiever who ALWAYS delivers.
This worked for me very well too, until things collapsed completely.
This time I knew I needed something that was going to work for me.
And that’s when it hit me:
When I started learning about burnout I found out I was not alone...
I need to get to the root cause of my burnout to address those problems otherwise burnout will keep coming back.
It took me lots of time and resources (including the professional help of a therapist) to get myself back on my feet - both mentally and professionally.
I could've avoided many problems (and save time and money) if I knew there was a much simpler way of doing things.
I want to share that with you in this coaching programme so you don't have to make the same mistakes.
What has changed for me since I applied the burnout recovery method in my life? I am able to:
-
Keep my schedule organized and fit "me-time" into my calendar without feeling guilty
-
Create better priorities, set up career goals that motivate me and have a career path that will maximise my potential without future burnout
-
Understand what are my strengths and use them on a daily basis
-
Get more work done as I know how to juggle my tasks
-
Give my family my undivided attention without constantly thinking about work
-
Find the time to invest in my self-care because I understand life is a marathon rather than a sprint
-
Stress less and know the importance of daily unwind rituals
-
Have deeper connections with friends and family
But moreover, I finally got out of the hamster wheel in which I was stuck for a few years.
On the emotional level, I feel more grounded, resilient and confident. I am no longer confused about my career and how I want my life to look like.
