Feeling stuck? How can you recognise that you need to change something?

Do you feel like nothing changes in your life and you are sick of it? Do you feel there is something wrong but you are not sure what it is? You feel like time is passing by but you are still in the same place? How to change something that you can’t even define?

If the above sounds a lot like you, don’t worry! You are not alone. Many of us have difficulty defining what the problem is.

We are living in times when we are bombarded with information and it is hard to recognise our own needs. Very often we are conditioned to put everyone else’s needs in front of our own. How should we know then that there is a time for a change in all of that noise? Where to start?

LISTEN TO YOUR HEART AND GET OUT OF THE LOOP

Thank you nature!

Nature provided us with some superpowers (YES!). Subconsciously we were equipped with some inner guidance that will manifest through our emotions and/or somatic symptoms. Imagine the situation (or maybe you are already experiencing it) wherefrom outside all looks well - you have a relatively good job, good relationships, little issues but you don’t feel good about it.

You may catch yourself feeling to be ‘off-balance’ (short temper, explosive or aggressive behaviour). From the physical standpoint, your well-being also might be down (problems with sleep, low concentration levels, tiredness, etc.).

Self-reflection

Keeping the journal to record your thoughts is really useful. It can help you analyse your mood, behaviour, action and results. That then helps recognising of your own feelings and to learn about who you really are as a person. It can give you an idea about the root cause of the problem.

Little changes

You can get your brain to be more creative. You can start with little twigs in your daily habits - change your breakfast menu, go to work using another route, try new activity… Anything that will help you get out of that loop.

Talk to your friend

You can share your thoughts with a person close to you. They might be able to recognise what triggers you or discuss similar experiences from their side. It is also a good idea to release the stress by talking to your significant others.

Hire a coach

Sometimes it is very hard to find a good solution just by doing it yourself. A coach can help you to identify the problem by using different techniques. They specialize in helping people to get to a new level. Once the issue is identified, they will help you translate it to an achievable goal and organize a plan of action.

Finally - Find a Purpose

Everyone wants to know their lives have some meaning but first of all, we need to know who we are and where we want to go. I will give you some hints about how to find more purpose in life in the next article.
